Kolekbibo

Kolekbibo is a blend of two Visayan words, “kolectivo” (collective or community) and “bibo” (joyful activity), embodying their mission to foster unity, collaboration, and spread wellness and happiness within the community.

Born from the spirit of compassion in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Odette, Kolekbibo began as a mobile kitchen, delivering over 96,000 meals to communities hit hardest by the storm. Today, as a SEC-registered NGO, Kolekbibo is on a mission to elevate wellness through early intervention programs that focus on nutrition, maternal care, and life-enhancing livelihoods.

Through the guidance of the National Nutrition Council and UNICEF, Kolekbibo is championing the well-being of pregnant women and infants during the first 1000 days of life, boosting health and nutrition among elementary students, and empowering women with vital skills for a brighter future.

Their groundbreaking nutrition program for pregnant and lactating women in San Benito municipality has set a precedent in the Caraga region, earning accolades from the DOH’s Healthy Pilipinas Partner’s awards and recognition from the National Nutrition Council of Caraga in 2023.

Kolekbibo also runs a vegetarian eatery in Barangay Bitaug, a social enterprise that also funds their impactful programs and fosters job opportunities. The essence of Kolekbibo, merging “kolectivo” (collective) and “bibo” (joy), reflects their core mission: to unite, collaborate, and spread wellness and happiness throughout the community.
